Spots Where I Ate At While In Zanzibar

Zanzibar is dotted with plenty of affordable places to eat from hotels, restaurants, street food to exploring spots where the locals actually eat, which can all satisfy your appetite without necessarily leaving you with an empty wallet especially when you are on holiday. Here are the places where I ate and thoroughly enjoyed the food as everything was seasoned and spiced right with plenty of flavours.

Mvuvi Boutique Hotel

Located on Kiwengwa’s white sand beach, Mvuvi exudes an air of absolute peace and just a chilled vibe.  An idyllic setting where you can escape from the usual beach theatrics and immerse yourself and enjoy the view of the Indian ocean. Actually fell asleep on the hammock because there was a cool breeze from the sea. Although the food took a while to come as it was a bit busy, it was well presented and tasted good.

Zanzibella

The food was great no complaints, the lobster with passionfruit will forever be the memorable star.

The Rock Restaurant

Having lunch at The Rock Restaurant was certainly a bucket list experience for me! The restaurant is spectacular and truly something out of a rustic dream with amazing sea views, loved everything about it, from the way we got there to the way we left.

Lukmaan Restaurant

Lukmaan has a huge variety of local cuisines to choose from, and it is not expensive hence the place is always busy with both tourists and locals, especially at peak times because of its price point. Several items were ordered to try out, and all of them were tasty. One negative aspect about the place is that it seems chaotic at times and the stray cats really bug you but this shouldn’t deter you from dining there at least once should you get a chance. Had the best mango and passionfruit smoothie it was delicious.

Africa House

Upstairs was extremely busy was difficult to even get any waiters attention the entrance to this place is downstairs from Africa House. Was relatively quiet when I went there but the price point is affordable, the portion size substantial and the chilli sauce was great.

La Base Restaurant

An interesting spot right by the beach serving a lot of Italian food with some locally infused stuff.
