It was just wonderful to get invited to one of Shoprite’s themed events held every couple of months just to take my mind off the crazy happenings in the country at the moment. They held an Italian cooking masterclass which was messy but so much fun.

These events are held to highlight the products that they have on offer in store. It was the first of many different masterclasses to come which I am looking forward to. We were directed by a funny Italian man who is the owner of La Bottega restaurant. He made everyone feel at ease whether you have made pasta from scratch before or not, came round to each table to direct and encourage you along the way as we followed his direction.

We made tagliatelle and ravioli from scratch and must say nothing beats the taste of freshly made pasta simple but so delicious. Even though I got some flour on my face I look forward to the next event as they are always well organised and good fun.
