Decided to go for Sunday lunch and Hassar Grill which is essentially a steak restaurant located at Eastpark Mall in Lusaka, looked like a cool place to eat. It was not fully packed initially but started to get busy and buzzing by the hour.

As you wait to get seated you see that there is a small bar on the side and a private dining area upstairs right from the entrance. The décor is very modern and stylish with greens and browns and some gold touches here and there which all works well together.
Some Luther Vandross was playing in the background which brought back some fond memories and a silent sing along.

I didn’t bother with the starter just wanted to get straight to the mains and ordered the calamari which one could have easily mistaken for onion rings, also tried the chilli chocolate chicken which I was pleasantly surprised by how well that combination worked together. I was able to find a dairy-free option in the dessert section, Malva pudding (a sweet pudding of Cape Malay origin which contains apricot jam and has a spongy caramelized texture) which was great for once.

Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience, it is the sort of place where you could end up after doing your shopping at the mall in your jeans and t-shirt and not feel out of place, but you could get dressed up too if you like. The service was very friendly and attentive throughout, there was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was delicious and the portions where standard. Most of the menu is quite classic and there’s something to keep everyone happy.

Great pictures! I love this review and it looks like a great place to eat at!
