Something Mexican At La Patrona

The Lusaka food scene has immensely improved and expanded over time to so much more. Spotted this Mexican place at Eastpark Mall and quickly pulled a chair because I was famished plus the thought of the vibrance and colourful presentation that is Mexican food was reason enough and couldn’t resist the look of the place.

From the onset the layout of the place draws you in with the cohesion of the interiors and the table setting really grabbing your eyes. Ordered a very refreshing basil mocktail which was so lovely that ended up ordering a second.

The starter was a ceviche which was a burst of fish and octopus marinated in lime with the kick of jalapeño, red onions, watery cucumber, refreshing coriander with bits of crunchy tortilla which was just a delight. Moved on to the mains of beef nachos with guacamole goodness and gooey cheese. Then a crispy Tofu poke bowl with a mix of rice, avocado, pineapple, radish, onions, tomatoes and coriander.

Mexican food is bold and beautiful, packed with so much flavour and made to be shared. Overall this was a very enjoyable meal, a tad pricey but it was a good meal, a good experience and the staff were great.
