A Taste of Scotland: Haggis Breakfast at the Dome

on

If there’s one thing Scotland knows how to do well, it’s breakfast. And not just any breakfast, a true Scottish affair featuring none other than the iconic haggis, love it or not. So, when I found myself at The Dome, a posh eatery and bar nestled in the heart of Edinburgh. I knew there was only one way to start my morning, with a proper haggis breakfast that promised to be as elegant as it was true authentic Scottish affair. This wasn’t just any breakfast spot; this was one of those establishments where the service is exceptional, the decor is a beautiful blend of modern sophistication and Scottish charm, with plush seating, floral arrangements, stunning chandeliers, and checkered floors.

The Dome is one of Edinburgh’s most grand brasserie, especially during Christmas the decorations are spectacular. It’s located in a stunning former banking hall that has been meticulously preserved to retain its original Georgian architecture. From the moment you enter, you’re transported back in time, surrounded by towering columns, intricate moldings, and the unmistakable charm of a bygone era.

What made this breakfast truly special was how it celebrated Scottish tradition while embracing modern culinary twist of items we are used to. The haggis was unmistakably authentic in its peppery kick and paired very well with the square sausage and the softness of the eggs. Each forkful was a delight of textures and flavours. If you ever make your way there, booking a table is essential!
