In the hustle and bustle of our busy daily lives, we often forget the importance of stepping back, breathing deep, and finding solace in the quiet embrace of nature. Just when we thought we didn’t need it, a tranquil haven emerged in the form of Hanlo Estate, nestled off Leopards Hill Road in Lusaka. Turned out to be the restful escape we didn’t know we craved. It offered us a chance to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the simplicity of life. From the moment we stepped onto the grounds of Hanlo Estate, we felt like we had been welcomed into the warm embrace of a long-lost friend. The owner and staff’s genuine smiles and their eagerness to make us feel at home set the tone for what was to be an unforgettable experience.

After settling into the guest house, we decided we would just have dinner with them and not bother with our home made bits and pieces. It was a good call because the three course meal delighted our bellies. Afterwards, it was a time to read, to make conversation, to think, and to simply be. We realized that we had needed this more than we could have imagined.
The veranda was our front-row seat to the enchanting world outside. From there, we watched horses neighing and grazing at a very close distance, their gentle movements soothing to the soul. The sounds of birds chirping during the day, crickets serenading us at night created a symphony that lulled us into a state of complete relaxation and zero light pollution, so the stars were shining like diamonds in the night sky.

This place is definitely a hidden gem that provides the perfect setting for rest, relaxation, and recuperation. It’s a place where the comforts of home merge seamlessly with the beauty of the natural world, offering an escape that’s as serene as it is rejuvenating. Our stay was a gentle reminder that in the chaos of life, we sometimes need to step back, embrace simplicity, and let nature’s embrace heal us.
