A Whirlwind of Shenanigans

on

Hey there long time no blog, fellow adventurers and food enthusiasts! Grab your forks and fasten your seatbelts because I’ve got a minor hilarious tale of escapades in and round the city while juggling the highs and lows of being a working mom, indulging in mouthwatering culinary adventures, and even managed to embarked on a giraffe-spotting quest in Livingstone town. Buckle up for a rollercoaster of laughter, different scenes and amazing sunsets!

Juggling Diapers and Dumplings

As a working mother, my day starts with giggles, diapers, baby food, and hurried goodbyes to getting back home then ordering Chinese pork dumplings for dinner, if too tired to cook. To looking for deals at local markets offering fresh produce to chic cafes serving international delights, my taste buds have been reintroduced to new tastes once again after pregnancy changed that. Had a lovely shared Zambian meal with the family at Mpoto Yathu where we had Zambian delicacies of beef, oxtail that was cooked so soft that it was melting in your mouth, village chicken with beans and bean leaves mixed with groundnuts.

Laughs, Legends and Leftovers

Embracing the role of a culinary explorer, I ventured back to Siesta by Mint with friends where we had starters, mains and desserts which ended in the inevitable food coma. Between bites of waffles, salmon and pasta dishes we engaged in a hearty laugh-a-thon swapping hilarious parenting stories, the cover page for the upcoming September issue and discussed the latest Tiktok trends.

Journey to Livingstone Grinning at Giraffes

As the weekend dawned, my family and I embarked on a very long and tiring road trip to Livingstone, a town bursting with the natural wonder of the world, the mighty Victoria Falls. Had a moment with the most charming creatures on stilts – giraffes! Picture this: giraffes nonchalantly strolling across the grass grazing then occasionally stopping to pose for the ‘gram (or in my case, the camera). It was a sight that tickled my heart and left me with a wide grin because it never gets old. Afterwards had a relaxing evening sipping on sundowners as the sun set.

Victoria Falls – Where Reality Meets Rainbows

Then, the pièce de résistance the Victoria Falls, a force of nature that has to be experienced as shared in several posts before. The sheer magnitude of the falls on this visit sent misty rainbows into the air which was wonderful to see and boy was it busy there couldn’t even pose for a picture. It’s not every day you witness such majesty so you just live in the moment without a raincoat and just experience it.

I couldn’t help but reflect on the joy of embracing life’s chaos. From diaper dilemmas to giraffe encounters and waterfall wonders. It is easy to get lost adulting and juggling responsibilities but life’s a rollercoaster, but it’s the shenanigans that make the ride worth every twist and turn!
